The south London club have another talented young full-back on their books and he could breakthrough this season in the Premier League
Crystal Palace fans believe they may well have already got the new Aaron Wan-Bissaka in their squad.
Excitement, though, is the overbearing emotion as they get a glimpse of young left-back Tyrick Mitchell in action.
Against FC Luzern on Wednesday night, the ex-Brentford academy starlet showed he’s ready to press Patrick van Aanholt for a place in the Palace first XI.
On as 65th minute substitute for the Dutch defender, the 19-year-old showed, balance, composure, and excellent timing by denying the Swiss side a shot on goal in dangerous situation inside the penalty area.
And supporters went absolutely wild for the youngster’s stunning tackle in the 1-1 draw as you can see below.
Mitchell signed a new contract with the club in January and is thrilled at his prospects at Selhurst Park.
“I’m excited and just want to get started and kick on from there. I’ve just tried to focus more, to see the end game.
“I’m not quite close [to being a first team player] but every day I’m closer than I was yesterday. I’m training with the first-team often, every week.
“My family are excited and proud of me, they were a big influence in my footballing career.”
