Eddie Hearn has revealed that his gut feeling leads him to believe the Andy Ruiz Jr vs Anthony Joshua rematch will take place in the UK.
The promoter is currently working to stage a second fight between the pair, following the Mexican-American’s shock win to claim the heavyweight titles last month.
AJ will ultimately decide on the date and location, with two main options to choose between – November 29 back at MSG in New York, or December 14 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
When asked where his gut suggests the bout will happen, Hearn told The Sportsman: “I think if I had to choose anywhere, I would probably say Cardiff.
“I think the general feeling around the training team is Cardiff would be the wise thing to do, as you’ve already done one in America.
“But there’s also that argument of going back to America for the fight.
“I would love to do it in Britain, because I think it would be great for British boxing, probably the biggest fight of all time in this country.
“AJ’s got to make the call, he said: ‘Wherever you wanna do it.’ I said: ‘No, no, no, you have to tell me where you want to do it.’
“I’m not going to be making a decision like this, we can give you our advice… at the weekend we will be making the decision.”
