Tottenham news: Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier among four players left out of Asia tour squad to seal moves
Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose have been left out of Tottenham’s squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.
The full-backs have both been told they can leave Spurs this summer and will remain in England to negotiate their transfers away from the club.
Trippier is set to join Atletico Madrid in a £20million-plus deal, while fellow England international Rose’s destination is not yet clear.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Spurs revealed Rose, Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou will not travel to Singapore to allow the possibility of landing a move away, while they made no reference to Trippier with an official announcement over his switch to Atletico expected imminently.
Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cameron Carter-Vickers will not travel due to injury, while Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama have been given additional time off having played in international tournaments over the summer.
Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld are on the plane to Singapore, where Tottenham will face Juventus on July 21 in the International Champions Cup before moving on to Shanghai to play Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Eriksen and Alderweireld have both been linked with a moves away from the club this summer.
“Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cameron Carter-Vickers will continue their rehabilitation at Hotspur Way,” the Spurs statement read.
“Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Danny Rose have been granted additional time off in order to explore prospective opportunities with other clubs.
“Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama will return to Enfield to start pre-season training next week following commitments with their national teams at summer tournaments.”
